Kuniki “Nick” Lockett’s services Townsend & Lockett’s patent prosecution clients, bringing more than 2o years of intellectual property experience to the table. Nick’s practice focuses on patent portfolio strategy and evaluation of new invention, inventor disclosure, and IP investments. Throughout Nick’s extensive IP counsel career he has provided legal counsel and services to a number for Fortune 500 clients including AT&T, IBM, Samsung, Philips Electronics, and Vonage communications.

Nick has worked as an in-house legal department as a patent analyst for Time Domain Corporation (TDC), developing their patent portfolio of ultra-wide band radio frequency technologies.  Nick’s work at TDC involved managing performance measures for a $250,000 U.S. government contract, drafting software and technology licensing agreements and providing due diligence research for corporate acquisitions.

Prior to his career in IP law, Nick’s worked as an engineer blending engineering, contract management and project management services. Specifically, as a civilian intelligence analyst with the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Nick’s responsibilities included managing and serving as technical point of contact for development and validation of a SIMULINK computer-based model of foreign missile infrared and Electro-Optical image processing systems, a contract valued at $300,000.
